A Visit to Schappacher Farms

Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 my wife and I took our daughter to Schappacher Farms in Mason, Ohio. We had a great time! There were horses (ponies?), a sheep, goats, and donkeys that Lilliann absolutely loved. We bought carrots and pellets to feed them and Lilliann gave hugs to one of the horses who seemed to really like her.

There was a large pumpkin patch which we took a hay ride to get to; we then stomped around the field in search of the perfect pumpkin for Lilli. Unfortunately, she just couldn't find the right one. They were all too dirty, or too heavy, or "just not the perfect one" as she put it.

Eventually we did locate her pumpkin, it was in the pumpkin patch on the other side of the drive way! The store on the farm was filled with goodies, and we ended up buying some apple butter, a cookie for Lilli, and of course her pumpkin.

Overall, we were very pleased with Schappacher Farms. All of the activities were completely free, we just had to buy food for the animals and pay for Lilliann's pumpkin. That's a pretty good deal too me. There was a corn maze there too, I'm not sure if it was free or not; we didn't do it because Lilli is still a bit too young but I'm sure we will in the years to come.
